The Qur’an and the Bible’s Viewpoints on Knowledge

Islam and Christianity can be well understood by the Qur’an and the Bible, and one of the most crucial and important matters of these two scriptures is “knowledge”. This significant word has been used throughout the Qur’an and the Bible in different forms and under various titles directly and indirectly.

Comprehension of the statues of “knowledge” can, on one hand, cause the motivation of the humans to be increased, and on the other hand, it will lead the human beings to comprehend the religion wisely and to try to discover and understand the reality as it is, and to get a desirable insight as it deserves. Believers have a vast range, but only the faith those people whose religiosity is based on knowledge and insight can be accepted. It is really impossible to deny the mutual relationship between knowledge and morality or spirituality.

On the other hand, the Divine scriptures of religions, when compared with each other, despite some differences, can reveal shared aspects that can make the audiences sure of the importance of the subject dealt with. Identification and clarification of the “Knowledge” and its significance is one of those important issues that the Qur’an and the Bible have many similarities on it.

Understanding these similarities will truly cause a more sincerity and cordiality between Islamic and Christian societies and will surely lead them to seize the appropriate procedures to reach to the shared aim of acquiring knowledge.
